Congratulations to Condit, Sycamore & Oakmont Elementary Schools for being recognized as 2017-19 Apple Distinguished Schools. There are only 400 schools in 29 countries who have received this distinction worldwide and CUSD is home to three of them! CEF has been a proud partner with CUSD to provide technology funds for Claremont schools. Over the last three years, CEF has granted more than $120,000 for technology in our seven elementary schools. On Thursday, December 7 (4:00 – 5:00 PM) at the Garner House in Memorial Park, we celebrated Condit Elementary, Oakmont Outdoor School, and Sycamore Elementary for being recognized as 2017-2019 Apple Distinguished Schools.
Schools are recognized as Apple Distinguished Schools based on their unique, implementation of Apple technology for student learning. Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence that use Apple products to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. They showcase innovative uses of technology in learning, teaching, and the school environment and have documented results of academic accomplishment. Our iBooks highlight each schools’ story of learning and innovation. This recognition is about the work of our students, our staff, and our community’s commitment to innovating around learning. Recognition as an Apple Distinguished School will allow us to collaborate with the international network of Apple Distinguished Schools as we continue to develop our program.
