Board Member Spotlight: Michelle Mitchell
An ongoing feature to highlight the work of our volunteers and inspire others to support and join the Claremont Educational Foundation.
Why did you choose to serve on the CEF Board? Why did you volunteer?
I wanted to serve on the Board because I feel CEF supports all students in our district as well as the teachers. When one volunteers, it generally gives more than it takes. With CEF, you get to meet the parents, students, and so much of our community. We truly know how to put the fun into fundraising with our numerous events that make you want to participate!
What are your proudest accomplishments in CEF?
With any organization it takes a team. Being an integral part of that team would be my greatest accomplishment. We have such a talented Board that I am proud to say I’m a part of.
What personal CEF experiences/impacts with the schools and students have you seen?
You never know who you’ll run into in our community and seeing what we do firsthand is the best. The conversations I’ve had with principals and grant recipients shines a light on the core importance of what we do. We are a small community and CEF is doing big things in it.
What excites you about the future of CEF?
I love how CEF has evolved and continues to grow our mission. I look forward to the exciting new directions we are headed with fundraising and the expansion of our summer programs!
