Dear Claremont Families,
I am delighted to serve as President of the Claremont Educational Foundation (CEF) during this 2017-18 school year. I joined the Board shortly after our family moved to Claremont in 2011. Over the years, I personally have seen the impact on the ten school sites of CEF funds supporting arts and technology and teacher innovation. I also have observed the effect of CEF grants on other exceptional nonprofit organizations who are doing great work with CUSD students. This is possible only because of generous donors including local businesses and community members, and CUSD families, faculty and staff.
I am grateful for the many members of the community who attend and support our community FUNdraisers. Please mark your calendar for our fifth annual Brews & Bros. Craft Beer Festival on January 20, 2018. Don’t miss our inaugural CEF Chocolate Walk on October 7 in the Claremont Village! And join the numerous parent-faculty associations and booster groups that participate in ticket sales for our Prius Raffle, scheduled for April 2018: It’s a win-win partnership!
With three kids at three different Claremont schools this year, I am deeply committed to a successful fundraising year to help meet the educational and enrichment needs of all our students. I see great opportunities at the primary and secondary schools.
Already this fall, CEF has granted $126,000 to all ten Claremont schools:
CHS – $32,000 to fund the new computer lab in room 707
El Roble – $6,000 to replace laptops and $10,000 to complete an iPad cart
San Antonio High School – $8,000 to replace iPads
And, each of the seven elementary schools received $10,000 for art or music instruction.
I encourage you to join me today with a gift to benefit our kids and our schools. Imagine what we can accomplish when we’re all in this together!
