Technology Impact

Impact on Technology at CUSD Schools

“Since 2010, CEF has gifted $136,000 for technology at El Roble. Thanks to many generous donors, CEF has been able to provide funding for technology that otherwise would not have been possible. Our teachers use technology daily in their classes and our students enjoy opportunities such as creating Green Screen Newscasts and their own music on GarageBand, as well as building interactive digital portfolios. El Roble teachers and students are grateful for CEF’s continued support for technology.” — Scott Martinez, Principal

“We are very thankful for the technology CEF has provided to CHS students over the years. In the library, CEF funds purchased a Google Chrome computer laptop cart that we use to teach students in all grade levels to use Naviance, a web based platform that guides students in the areas of career exploration, academic planning and college preparation. CEF also funded a computer lab for career technical education classes: computer programming, game design and 3D media design. Additionally, CEF has provided us with over 139 iPads that allow our students to use iPads in all English classes and many math, science and social science classes.” — Dr. Brett O’Connor, Principal

“San Antonio is the envy of alternative schools. We receive visits from educators from all over Southern California. We have also been recognized as one of just a few continuation schools to be honored as a three-time California Model Continuation High School, as well as an Apple Distinguished School. The difference is the technology in the hands of students many consider “at-risk.” The only way this caliber of instruction can be offered is because of CEF. CEF has single-handedly allowed us to have cutting edge tools that re-engage our students to learn and establish a new path toward success.” — Dr. Sean Delgado, Principal
